SOX2 | Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha, human

SRY (sex determining region Y)-box 2, also known as SOX2, is a transcription factor essential for maintaining self-renewal of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells. As a member of the SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) family of transcription factors, it also involves in the regulation of embryonic development and the determination of cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. Mutations in this gene have been associated with bilateral anophthalmia, a severe form of structural eye malformation. This gene lies within an intron of another gene, SOX2 overlapping transcript (SOX2OT).The ectopic expression of SOX2 may be related to abnormal differentiation of colorectal cancer cells.

Molecular Weight SOX2 Human Recombinant was produced in E. coli as a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 208 amino acids and shown to exhibit a Molecular Weight of approximately 23 kDa by SDS-PAGE (under reducing and non-reducing conditions). The C-terminus of SOX2 protein is fused to a 6xHis tag.
Purity >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Endotoxin Endotoxin level was found to be ≤ 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg) by a LAL gel clot method.
Formulation Lyophilized from a Tris solution pH8.0, filtered with a membrane (0.2 µm) .
Reconstitution To reconstitute the protein, add sterile water to the lyophilized protein and make a preparation with a concentration ≥0.1mg/ml. The preparation can be diluted into other appropriate buffers if necessary. Cautions should be taken to avoid bacterial growth, resulting in potential contamination with endotoxin.
Stability Once lyophilized, the protein is stable at room temperature (≈3 weeks) and at -20°C (≥ 2 years from the date of receipt).Upon reconstitution, it can be stored at 4°C (≤ 7 days) or at -20°C (≤ 6 months). For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended.Avoid frequent freeze-thaw cycles.
Usage FOR LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
