PEDF (Pigment epithelium-derived factor), Human Recombinant, HEK

Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF; encoded by SERPINF1 and also known as EPC1 and caspin), a 50 kDa glycoprotein and expressed in many tissues, including adipose, brain, spinal cord, eye, plasma, bone, prostate, pancreas, heart, liver and lung. PEDF is a serpin that has multiple biological actions. Moreover, PEDF have many functions in regulating proliferation and differentiation of endothelial cells, in which PEDF inhibits angiogenesis and involves in inflammatory response. Meanwhile, Some research show that the identification of PEDF as a major antagonist to angiogenic factors (such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)), evidence for its antitumorigenic and antimetastatic activities, and its potential use as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for cancer management.
Description PEDF Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a single, glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing a total of 410 amino acids, having a molecular mass of 45.6 kDa and fused to an 11 aa FLAG tag at C-Terminus.
The Human PEDF is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms Pigment epithelium-derived factor, PEDF, Serpin-F1, SerpinF1, EPC-1, EPC1, PIG35.

Purity >96% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Formulation Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
The filtered (0.4µm) concentrated (0.5mg/ml) protein solution was lyophilized with 20mM Tris & 20mM NaCl pH-7.5.
Stability The lyophilized form of the protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks and at -20°C for at least 2 years from the date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C for no more than 7 days. The protein is stable at -20°C for six months. For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Solubility It is recomnded to add deionized water to a working concentration of 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. Product is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.
Usage LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
