FGF19 (Fibroblast growth factor 19), Human Recombinant, E.coli

Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) regulates developmental processes, such as brain patterning, branching morphogenesis and limb development. The Fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF19) subfamily members of fibroblast growth factors, including FGF19, FGF21, and FGF23, is a novel group of endocrine factors that have been implicated in the regulation of many metabolic processes and regulate glucose, lipid, and energy homeostasis. FGF19 is a hormone-like enterokine released postprandially that emerged as a potential therapeutic agent for metabolic disorders, including diabetes and obesity. FGF19 transcripts are found in brain, cartilage, skin, retina, kidney, gall bladder and small intestine. Expression occurs primarily in the ileum from which the ligand circulates to the liver and carries out its main functions. FGF19 was stimulated after decreased adiposity, increased energy expenditure, reduced liver triglycerides, increased fatty acid oxidation, reduced glucose levels.

Formulation Filtered white lyophilized powder.
Filtered (0.4 µm) and lyophilized from 1mg/ml in 1x PBS, pH 7.4.
Stability The lyophilized form of the protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks and at -20°C for at least 2 years from the date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C for no more than 7 days. The protein is stable at -20°C for six months. For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of balb/c 3T3 cells is 100-150ng/ml.
Solubility Add deionized water to a working concentration approximately 0.5 mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely.
Usage LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
