Betacellulin Mouse Recombinant

BTC is a potent mitogen for retinal pigment epithelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells. The effects of betacellulin are probably mediated by the egf receptor and other related receptors.
Description BTC Mouse Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 80 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 9.0kDa.
The BTC is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Synonyms Betacellulin, Probetacellulin.
Source Escherichia Coli.
Amino Acid Sequence DGNTTRTPET NGSLCGAPGE NCTGTTPRQK VKTHFSRCPK QYKHYCIHGR CRFVVDEQTP SCICEKGYFG ARCERVDLFY
Purity >96% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Formulation Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered concentrated solution in 1×PBS, pH 7.4.
Stability The lyophilized form of the protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks and at -20°C for at least 2 years from the date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C for no more than 7 days. The protein is stable at -20°C for six months. For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of mouse Balb/3T3 cells is < 0.01 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of > 1.0×108 IU/mg.
Solubility It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized BTC Mouse Recombinant in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Usage LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
