PPP1CC (Protein Phosphatase 1, Catalytic Subunit Gamma), Human Recombinant, E.coli
Phosphatases (PSPs) have multiple sub-families, with the largest family being the PhosphoProtein Phosphatases (PPP). The PPP family consists of PP1, PP2A, PP3 (PP2B/Calcineurin), PP4, PP5, PP6 and PP7. Among the PPP family, Protein Phosphatase 1 (PP1, ~38.5 kDa) is the a highly characterized serine/threonine phosphatase whose activity is dependent on its binding to regulatory subunits known as PP1 interacting proteins (PIPs). PP1 regulates diverse, essential cellular processes such as cell cycle progression, protein synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, transcription and neuronal signaling. Two isoforms of phosphoprotein phosphatase 1, PPP1CC1 and PPP1CC2, are translated from alternatively spliced transcripts of a single gene, PPP1CC, and differ only at their extreme C-termini. PPP1CC is vital for cell division and takes part in the regulation of protein synthesis, muscle contractility and glycogen metabolism.
Description | PPP1CC Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 343 amino acids (1-323) and having a molecular mass of 39.1kDa. PPP1CC is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
