Cystatin-A Human Recombinant

Description	Cystatin A Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 98 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 11kDa. The Cystatin A is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Amino Acid Sequence	The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ile-Pro-Gly-Gly.
Purity	>96% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Formulation	Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Cystatin A was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5 and 100mM NaCl.
Stability	The lyophilized form of the protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks and at -20°C for at least 2 years from the date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C for no more than 7 days. The protein is stable at -20°C for six months. For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Biological Activity	The IC50 value is < 3.4 nM, as measured by its ability to inhibit papain cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate.
Solubility	It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Cystatin A in sterile 18M?-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
