BRAK | CXCL14, Human
Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 14 (CXCL14) is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family that is also known as BRAK (for breast and kidney-expressed chemokine). Breast and Kidney-expressed chemokine (BRAK) is a CXC chemokine expressed in normal tissue in the absence of inflammatory stimuli, and infrequently expressed in cancer cell lines. CXCL14 has been proposed to be important for regulating the trafficking of macrophage precursor to regions in skin and mucosal tissues that support their development.
Full Name | BRAK (CXCL14) Human Recombinant |
Synonyms | C-X-C motif chemokine 14, Small-inducible cytokine B14, Chemokine BRAK, Bolekine, NJAC, KS1, Kec, BMAC, MIP-2g, SCYB14, CXCL14, BRAK, MGC10687. |
Source | E. coli |
Amino Acid Sequence | The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ser-Lys-Cys-Lys-Cys. |
Molecular Weight | CXCL14 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 77 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 9.4kDa. |
Purity | >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC |
Endotoxin | Endotoxin level was found to be ≤ 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg) by LAL gel clot method. |
Formulation | Lyophilized from 20mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.5 and 1M NaCl. |
Reconstitution | To reconstitute the protein, add sterile water to the lyophilized protein and make a preparation with a concentration ≥0.1mg/ml. The preparation can be diluted into other appropriate buffers if necessary. Be cautious and avoid potential contamination with bacteria and endotoxin |
Stability | The lyophilized form of the protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks and at -20°C for at least 2 years from the date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C for no more than 7 days. The protein is stable at -20°C for six months. For long term storage, please store at -80°C and the addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Biological Activity | The ED50 of CXCL14 as determined by its ability to induce calcium flux of prostaglandin E2 treated THP1 human acute monocytic leukemia cells was 1.0-10.0 ng/ml. |
Usage | LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. |
